A Series of Articles Brought Back to Life......
published on 21.06.2009, 16:47:16. Category: no category
As I was making my departure from the company I left publishing from for a brief period last year, I wrote a series of blog postings I left them use on their website. They have removed them, and I thought it was some pretty good information, so I have put them all back up here on AppleProAudio.com for you to read. I cover the Second Life experience for musicians, plus talk about my street-level success early in life by booking my own gigs at clubs, fairs, opening slots, or working with agents, playing college gigs, and more.

I went off on my disdain, and a healthy disdain it is, for pay-to-play clubs, the myth of needing a manager, plus the various kinds of booking agents out there and how to deal with them. I hope ya'll enjoy reading this stuff, it was fun to re-post here and ought to keep you busy for a while.

You'll also find me posting some gems from the long gone ArtistPro Magazine I once published for the members of the Recording Academy, which after two years of publication ceased to be. Many folks asked what happened to it. Seemed they loved getting a peer-level publication that wasn't full of product announcements and releases. Well, the truth is I shouldn't air the dirty laundry and political crap and its not for this site to tell the tale of woe forced on our small publishing company on that dreary day.

Most of you would never have seen these cool interviews and stories, including a very rare interview with the most fascinating Mike Nesmith. Tony Visconti's interview on surround mixing David Bowie's Heathen was great, and Bob Welch's grump old rock star back page column was the makings of a classic.

I'll dig through my digital archives from time to time to see what else I can find from these good old days and add it here, along with the new content we're planning for AppleProAudio.com. Bottom line, I want this site to be a fun and entertaining, educational diversions for musicians, producers and engineers like me who use the Mac in the personal and business life.

Stay tuned and tell your friends that the APA site on the Mac is Back!!
